the 3d icons placed on the map

We introduce the new 3d icons of shops and museums in this version of the map. The direction of the facades in relation to the route, the cast shadow of the icons on the ground and the gradience of color complement each other in pointing direction.

  1. I think these maps are drastically improved from the previous ones. Like it.
It would be better if you used other colors for the museum icons since the shopping icons are more dominant. Color Circle: "http://cs.bc.edu/~syu/artvis/course/homework/huesatval/PureColorCircle.jpg"

  2. The detailed houses are very nice. I think these 3D icons will work for the giftshops; they all look like little gifts but for the museums its not very clear. I don't instantly relate the M on the house and the little flag to a museum.

I think that the directions hints are working very well by turning the houses, this is a good choice. The starting point is nicely done, but maybe it could draw more attention to it by adding an other color.
