assignment 1 - third dimension

Thian Lim

Because my topic was the third dimension, I figured why not make the poster with 3D modeling software. I used Maya to create a scene where citizens of Delft, young and old, work together on Spoorzone Delft. The colors used in the 3D letters symbolize positivity and optimism, while the disorder of the letters symbolize the chaos of the current construction works. The two lines on the ground stand for the railway station and tracks, which lie in the center of Spoorzone Delft.

  1. Hi, I can clearly see this is perspective because of the two blue lines on the ground and the reflection of the people and the occlusion of the ball in front.
People seem happy with spoorzone of delft so I think the messege is also clear.
The only think I'd like to point out is that the high reflections of people's heads make me too much focus on them even though they don't have any meanings and messegse.
It would be better if you had a train shape instead of the blue ball in front. otherwise I like it!

  2. The blue and white colours in the poster are clear and therefore the bright happy colours are standing out well. It would be better if in between the 2 lines in the middle, there would be some cross-over lines also, to illustrate the train track better. There is not really a clear function of the reflecting ball on the left, except for giving more depth into the poster, but is doesnt relate to the content of the poster. There could be more perspective in the blue figures; overall they are about the same size. The two lines on top could differ more from its size, to create a little and underline; so the message would be more clear. But, after all, it really is a nice and interesting poster to watch.
